Additional Information
To graduate, you must complete at least 30 upper-division units. This includes major requirements, General Education and electives. If your major courses don’t meet this total, you’ll need to take additional upper-division classes to reach the minimum.
Up to a total of 6 transfer units in the following Criminal Justice courses completed at a community college may be counted toward meeting the "general electives" requirements for the major:
- Introduction to Criminal Justice
- Concepts of Criminal Law; for applicable courses, go to the ASSIST website
As a Criminal Justice Studies major, you must complete at least 12 units of Complementary Studies from courses outside the major department. Cross-listed courses don’t count.
If you’re completing a second major or a minor, this requirement is automatically fulfilled.
You can also meet this requirement by working with your Online Success Coach to choose 12 units of courses that support your goals. With approval, these courses may also count toward your major.
If you earned an AA-T or AS-T degree, talk to your Online Success Coach to see how your transfer and SFSU units can help you meet this requirement and stay on track to graduate within 60 units.
