To apply, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a California resident or live in another authorized state (see State Authorization)
  • Have at least 60 transferable semester units (or 90 quarter units)
  • Have a GPA of 2.0 (C) or higher in all transferable coursework
  • Be in good standing at your last college or university
  • Have completed all lower-division GE requirements (34 semester or 51 quarter units) with a C- or better

You must submit official transcripts from all colleges you’ve attended to be accepted into the program. If you are a current SFSU student or graduate, you do not need to submit transcripts.

When you apply through Cal State Apply, upload any unofficial transcripts that show your college coursework.

For details on how to submit official transcripts, visit Submitting Transcripts.

You must complete all lower-division General Education (GE) requirements before entering the program. For details, visit SFSU Bulletin > General Education.

If you enter with an AD-T (AA-T or AS-T), you can finish the program in two years by taking a full load of 15 units per semester.

You can take courses at a local community college or CSU campus while enrolled in the program. These courses may count toward university electives, program electives or lower-division General Education requirements. Once completed, the course will appear on your SFSU transcript as a non-campus course. For details and eligibility, see the SFSU Bulletin.
