Introduction:
Professional Development Series in Wetlands Science
Advancing the understanding of the world's complex marine and estuarine environments through research, education, and outreach, with a focus on San Francisco Bay.
SF States Romberg Tiburon Center for Environmental Studies (RTC) is pleased to offer a series of short courses in wetlands science and management. These courses provide professional training on a range of topics, allowing students to gain expertise and hands on experience in wetlands ecology, restoration, delineation, GIS and hydrology, to name a few. All courses have expert instructors who have been working locally for the majority of their careers. We restrict enrollment to ensure a low student/teacher ratio, and guarantee lots of hands on time in the lab and field. Now is the time to come explore this important ecosystem right in our own backyard.
These courses can be used to meet the training requirements of the Society of Wetland Scientists' Professional Wetlands Scientist Certification program.
The Society of Wetland Scientists
The Society of Wetland Scientists was formed to further non-profit scientific and educational objectives related to wetland science, thus encouraging and strengthening professional standards in all activities related to wetland science.
The Society of Wetland Scientists Professional Certification Program, serving the publics need to identify qualified individuals to assess and manage the Nations resources.
This program is intended to meet the needs of professional ecologists, hydrologists, soil scientists, educators, agency professionals, consultants, and others who practice wetland science.
