TouchTone Phone Registration
Call Waiting Users: Disconnect your Call Waiting before you use TouchTone. Dial *70.
- PHONE CEL TouchTone Registration:
Once the registration period has begun, you may call 415.405.4321.
- ENTER your NINE-DIGIT SFSU ID:

- ENTER your FOUR-DIGIT Personal Access Code (PAC):
For more information see PAC.
- ENTER a ONE-DIGIT Action Code:
Example: PRESS the 2 key on your phone to ADD a class.
- ENTER the FIVE-DIGIT Course Schedule Number:
If the class is available, TouchTone Registration will verify your enrollment in the class.
- NOTE PAYMENT DUE DATE:
Student should make a note of the Payment Due Date. If students do not pay for classes by the Payment Due Date, students will be dropped for non-payment. See Payment Due Date.
- FINISHED:
When you have finished adding all your classes PRESS the 8 key on your phone or hang up.
TouchTone Tips
415.405.4321 is the number to call for fast and easy CEL TouchTone registration.
Before you register:
- Set up your CEL TouchTone record if you have not taken classes at SF State or CEL since 1986 by calling 415.405.7700.
- Make sure you have met course prerequisites.
- Make sure your course does not need an instructor's signature.
- Make sure your course has not yet begun.
- Note that you cannot drop courses through CEL TouchTone.
- Fill out the CEL TouchTone Registration Worksheet (PDF) in advance.
- Have alternate course selections ready in case your first choices are filled.
- For courses that have not begun and are not available through TouchTone, call 415.405.7700 for enrollment details.
When you register:
- Have your worksheet in hand.
- Please keep redialing. Phone lines can be very busy the first few hours of registration. You can get through with persistence.
- Follow automated CEL TouchTone instructions carefully.
- Be sure you hear your amount due and press [1] before you hang up the phone.
- You cannot use CEL TouchTone to drop; call 415.405.7700.
After you register:
- Pay your fees as soon as possible. Fees are due by your earliest due date.
- See the sections on how to use SF State's TouchTone and Web payment systems. Students are automatically dropped for non-payment at the end of the fifth business day following registration or the end of the business day before a course begins if registration takes place within five business days of the beginning of a course.
