SF State Password
As a means of increasing security and confidentiality, San Francisco State University has switched to using SF State Passwords instead of a four-digit PAC when accessing all Web-based applications at the University. To confirm, change or create your SF State Password, please go to SF State Password.
Students who have problems using SF State Password should contact Extended Learning by phone at 415.405.7700, by e-mail at sfsucel@sfsu.edu, or in person at the main campus or the Downtown Campus.
Faculty who have problems using SF State Password should contact Human Resources at 415.338.1872 or hrwww@sfsu.edu.
SF State ID
As of October 1, 2005 students register using a nine-digit SF State Identification Number (SF State ID) instead of their SSN. This change was implemented for confidentiality and security purposes.
State regulations require that students submit their SSN to SF State Extended Learning when creating their student record. But after a record is set up, students will use their SF State ID for every transaction at the University.
Students can look up their SF State Identification Number on the Web.
