Shamanic Drumming & Healing Circle - Debra Varner, M.A.

The circle is a powerful force for healing self and extending healing to others. We learn how to journey, a guided meditation, to retrieve information from our spirit guides on how we can heal ourselves. Drums and rattles are the tools which assist us in getting to the altered state by which we can access the spirit world. In addition, we learn some of the traditions of my teachers and guides, the Siberian shamans.

Join us in our work learning more about our spirit helpers and ourselves.  We welcome new members to the ongoing circle. We meet at the Downtown Campus and ask that you bring the following to our gatherings: a gift for the altar, a light snack to share with the group, a rattle or drum, an eye covering, and a journal and pen.

World Affairs Discussion Group

The World Affairs Discussion Group (WAD-G) meets once a month all year, and the group of 8 to 12 discusses issues of world importance. Often one member gives a short report on a topic, and then the group discusses it.

The group meets two hours in the middle of the day (Tuesdays) and invites people who like to read and keep up, listen, and share ideas to join it.

Aging Explorers

We are a group of OLLI members exploring aging together. We read, talk, argue, learn, laugh, and create. In 2007-08 we have planned and are putting on a lecture and discussion series on aging for OLLI and the public. We are currently meeting to plan our agenda for 2008-09. Our purpose is to create community and a space in which we can all talk about problems of aging and understand, prepare for, prevent if we can, live with as well as possible, or advocate solutions to them. For information about future meetings, check this Web site or contact Rufus Browning at rufusb5269@sbcglobal.net or Judy Goddess at JudyGoddess@sbcglobal.net.
