OLLI Community: Interest Groups
- The World Affairs Discussion Group (WAD-G) meets once a month all year, and the group of 8 to 12 of us discuss issues of world importance. Often one member gives a short report on a topic, and then we have time to discuss it.
We meet for two hours in the middle of the day (Tuesdays) and invite people who like to read and keep up, listen, and share ideas to join us.
Learn about upcoming discussions on the OLLI events page.
For more informations, contact Al Crowell.
- Reading Group: Fiction You Wish You Had Read. 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Mechanics' Institute, 57 Post Street, in the 4th floor board room. The meetings begin at 3:00pm and are over by 4:30pm.
We meet monthly for a peer-led discussion on a work of good fiction that we never got around to reading, or that we read so many years ago that we forgot.
The meetings are free and open to OLLI members and members of the Mechanics' Institute.
See the OLLI events page for details.
For additional information, contact Judy Goddess.

- Conversational Spanish Workshop
This drop-in workshop will allow intermediate and advanced Spanish-speaking OLLI members (currently enrolled) to practice Spanish pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. The workshop will animate its members to improve their communication skills and fluency through a variety of topic discussions: currents events, literature, culture and music. Learning activities will include reading, listening and short presentations.
Aida Cervantes, the workshop facilitator, obtained a Licenciatura's degree in Diplomatic Sciences (UNAM) and met all course requirements for a master's degree in Asian and African Studies from El Colegio de Mexico.
