Mobile UX/UI Design Intensive Certificate (3 CEU)
This 30-hour certificate teaches user experience methods and best design patterns and strategies for iOS, Android mobile, tablet environments, and mobile web, with special focus on critical elements of iOS and Android mobile apps: homescreen, search, navigation, forms and workflows. The majority of the program will be activity-based, focusing on hands-on applications of user-centered design approaches such as storyboarding user scenarios, user testing of paper prototypes using Rapid Iterative Testing and Evaluation (RITE) and practical application of mobile design patterns.
Prerequisites: Interaction Design or familiarity with basic UX design concepts and mobile devices is highly recommended.
Weekend 1: Mobile Design Principles
The class will review mobile design process and case study, differences between Android and iOS, along with storyboarding user scenarios and homescreen design patterns.
Weekend 2: Mobile Design Patterns and Anti Patterns
This module will review the design patterns for searching, sorting, filtering, data entry, forms, and the design patterns to avoid missing or undesirable results.
Weekend 3: Advanced Mobile Design Patterns and Designing for Tablets
The class will cover navigation and mobile banking as advanced mobile and tablet design patterns.
