ENTRY PERIOD: The SF State Extended Learning Career Makeover giveaway contest will begin on 07.07.08 at 12am Pacific Time (PT) and will end as published for each class on www.cel.sfsu.edu/makeover. For classes with additional partners and sponsors, see rules as published.
HOW TO ENTER: There is one method of entry: ON-LINE: Log onto www.cel.sfsu.edu/makeover during the contest period. Follow the links and instructions to enter by writing a 100 word or less essay stating how a specific class will change the course of your career and submit your first name and last name, complete address, city, state, ZIP code, telephone number, date of birth, a valid email address, and declare that you are over 21 years of age in the online entry form. One (1) winner will be chosen at the end of the entry period. Only one internet entry per person and one internet entry per email address is permitted. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible by assigning email address or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. All entries submitted become the sole property of SF State Extended Learning and will not be acknowledged or returned. Use of any device to automate entry is prohibited. Proof of submission of an entry shall not be deemed proof of receipt by Station. The SF State computer is the official time keeping device for the sweepstakes. SF State Extended Learning is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the internet, service outage or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches.
ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to US Citizens and Permanent Residents who not SF State Employees and are 21 years of age or older at the time of entering the contest and possess and valid government issued ID that provides proof of age. All entrants must also be willing to schedule three (3) interviews with Energy 92.7 at the Energy 92. Studios (400 2nd St., Suite 300, San Francisco, California 94111) during the course about their participation in the program should they be selected as the grand prize winner. Entrants are required to provide truthful information in all contest entries and will be disqualified if it is determined to be false or fraudulent. Grand prize winner must sign a winner release.
PRIZES:
The grand prize is a registration fee waiver for the San Francisco State Digital Video Intensive Program from September 2nd, 2008 until December 19th, 2008 (ARV - $9,995.00). Other prizes are registration fee waivers for classes as published on www.cel.sfsu.edu/makeover. The winners are responsible for all federal, state, and applicable taxes associated with this prize. Should SF State Extended Learning cancel the Fall 2008 DVI for any reason, the winner must consult with the program director (as communicated in the introduction email) to arrange registration in the program in the following semester. Should the class not be offered again, it is at the program director's discretion to make registration fee waivers available to similar classes of significantly lesser value. Winners cannot defer their enrollment longer than one semester past the originally stated program semester, and only if SF State Extended Learning did not offer the advertised class. If winner drops out of the program, no compensation will be given. All other SF State Extended Learning policies apply, see www.cel.sfsu.edu for further details.
There is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent for prizes, except that Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply.
WINNER SELECTION:
Decisions of SF State Extended Learning management with respect to this contest are final. The winners will be notified by email on the date specified on the entry form at cel.sfsu.edu. The email will be outlining the process to register for the class won. Criteria for selection of the grand prize winner will be based on the quality of their 100 word or less response to how participation in a course will change their career.
Odds of winning the grand prize depend on the number of entries received from eligible entrants.
CONDITIONS:
Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the Winner(s). The Winner also may be required to sign IRS Forms W-9 or the equivalent prior to acceptance of the prize. By participating in the contest, the winner and/or travel companions agree to have their name, voice or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, SF State Extended Learning in its sole discretion, may require contest winners (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold SF State Extended Learning and its contest partners, its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest. SF State Extended Learning, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the website or is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort SF State Extended Learning reserves the right to make changes in the rules or the contest that will become effective upon announcement. If due to circumstances beyond the control of the Station, any competition or prize-related event is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, SF State Extended Learning reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification at the sole discretion of SF State Extended Learning. SF State Extended Learning and its partners are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize. Copies of the written rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours at the address noted above.
