International Students
Anyone with a non-immigrant visa may enroll in College of Extended Learning courses. Although enrollment in the College of Extended Learning is not considered admission to SF State, an I-20 ("Certificate of Eligibility") for F-1 student status may be issued when students are admitted into a full-time certificate program in the College of Extended Learning and require a student visa to enter the country. Students entering the U.S. using an F-1 visa must maintain full-time student status during the time they are enrolled in an approved certificate program at the College of Extended Learning. Full-time enrollment in Academic Credit Certificate Programs is 12 units per semester and for CEU Credit Certificate Programs is 7 classes per semester.
The designated programs for which an I-20 for F-1 student visa can be issued are:
* International students must also complete a Certificate Program Application Form. This application fee is $50, except for the International Business Certificate Program. The fee for the International Business Certificate is $100. If your Program Title is not listed on the top of the application, please write the program name in the line provided.

Completed applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable $550 application fee (made payable to SFSU-CEL) and should be mailed to:
