INGI
The Institute for Next Generation Internet at San Francisco State University was founded in 2005 to provide leadership in the evolution of Next Generation Internet focusing on issues of public policy, industry collaboration, research and development, and community engagement. INGI is dedicated to developing the ecosystem for Next Generation connectivity in the San Francisco Bay Area. While digital convergence continues to change the worlds of audio, video, data and voice communication services, INGI is bringing a diverse set of partners together in collaboration with The Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California, CENIC. INGI has produced a unique partnership of educational institutions, government agencies, major corporations, small businesses, and community-based organizations. INGI is an incubator and accelerator for Next Generation Internet applications. INGI delivers the communication and digital technologies that are needed for enabling education in the knowledge economy. To this end, INGI breaks down barriers to digital literacy for underserved communities. INGI’s effort to deliver broadband communication and digital technologies is not limited to education. Collaborating with leading industry partners, INGI is working to bring advanced technologies and solutions into every community. INGI continues to facilitate Digital Sister Cities Network and extends its international partnerships to bridge global communities in an effort to stimulate business and cultural connections through advanced technologies. INGI will continue to be a leader in developing applications, strategic partnerships, and support for the Next Generation Internet. |
