Learning Made Mobile

A new venture designed to meet the needs of parents in public education

EdText is an innovative public-private partnership to enhance parent communication and connectivity with their public schools. It is a simple text messaging platform that will allow teachers to communicate directly to parents and families with important information about their children. Staying connected to children’s education is a major challenge for today’s families, and our schools need effective, low-cost tools to help to communicate with parents and caretakers. EdText is designed to work on mobile phones with all major carriers so parents don’t have to worry about expensive hardware or steep learning curves. They can use EdText to stay connected and ask questions so they can help their children succeed.

Working in partnership with Mobile Commons, the Institute for Next Generation Internet - San Francisco State University, the Bay Area Video Coalition, Applied Learning Technologies Institute - Arizona State University, and the Zero Divide Foundation of California, EdText will use its revenues to build innovative mobile solutions for public education.
