Introduction:
Hospitality & Tourism Management
The Hospitality & Tourism Management certificate program is designed to meet the needs of non-matriculated students who wish to change career or learn specific concepts and skills in hospitality management within a concentrated period of time. This program is focused on the management of a rapidly growing diverse industry in lodging, restaurants/food services, conventions and events, tourism businesses and is also practically oriented toward skills and occupations. It is a 24-unit program which can also include internship study in a coherent set of academic courses in Hospitality & Tourism Management. This program also allows students to take classes in hospitality management while gaining hands-on practical or internship experience in the hospitality industry. The award of a certificate means that the holder has completed the required courses and related work experience at an acceptable level of academic accomplishment in a specific area. The certificate indicates to a prospective employer that the University validates the certificate program in Hospitality & Tourism Management.
