I am a student who has taken classes at Sonoma State or San Jose State. Can I transfer my meeting planning course units and complete my certificate at SF State's program?
Yes, we accept courses from both Sonoma and San Jose State students! You will need to provide an enrollment record or transcript from the prior college before we will be able to process your certificate.
Do I have to pay for everything up front?
No, most of our students pay for two or three classes at a time. You are welcome to register and pay as you go. We do ask that students are registered at the absolute latest by the Friday before the class begins. On-site registration is considered late registration and will result in a $25 late fee.
Is there financial aid for this program?
Unfortunately there is no federal aid for non-academic programs at this time.
Do you offer job placement?
No; however, we do offer internships. We also advise prospective planners to join industry organizations to make additional industry contacts. Organizations like the Northern California Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (NCCMPI), and International Special Events Society are a great start and offer student discount rates.
