Join Us at the SF State Downtown Campus

In January 2007, the SF State College of Extended Learning relocated to a brand new SF State downtown campus at 835 Market Street (the corner of Market and Powell).
This exciting new location is the historic site of the San Francisco Emporium, best known for its eye-popping glass ceiling atrium, which has been preserved and will now adorn the new building. This dynamic new environment in the heart of downtown, is directly on the Powell Street BART and Muni lines, and close to affordable parking.

We’ll be offering the same great programs in an environment designed to make your experience at Extended Learning even more rewarding. Interactive kiosks will be available so that you can check daily classes, events, and area happenings all at once. Twenty-four spacious classrooms and eight computer labs will help us welcome more students, and now we can offer special weekend seminars in addition to daytime, evening, and online classes. And for those who’d like to combine classes with a city experience, you can dine out, or catch a movie before or after class. 835 Market Street will house popular retail shops, restaurants, a theatre complex, and more.

But most importantly, the Downtown Campus allows the College of Extended Learning to expand its resources to students as well as the community, and provide access to more SF State programs. In addition to the College of Extended Learning, the Downtown Campus houses SF State graduate business programs, and other departments and programs of San Francisco State University.
